After an early breakfast, we will head towards Kapoeta, a town in the state of Eastern Equatoria. The 6-hour journey will be a unique opportunity to feast our eyes on the landscape characteristic of South Sudan.

We will traverse through dense bush to reach the village of the Larim people, also known as the Boya. Here, we will have time to rest and have our first encounter with the Larim people. We will spend the night in traditional tents.

5.day

The territories of the Larim Tribe

Ahead of us is a whole day in the villages of the Larim people. It will be a rare opportunity to see up close and with our own eyes what the daily life of the Boya, a tribe considered one of the most traditional communities in South Sudan, looks like. We will learn about their rituals and ceremonies.

The life of the Larim revolves around cattle farming, hunting, and fishing. They also cultivate seasonal crops such as beans, maize, and sorghum. Our stay in the Larim village will also provide an opportunity to witness the characteristic dances of the Boya.

The night will bring rest, and we will spend it again in traditional tents.

Characteristic of them is also the custom of lip piercing and scarification. And every design adorning their faces, chests, and arms is a true work of art. Night will once again welcome us under traditional tents.
