Travel itinerary
Flight to Bogota
Passport and luggage check-in and flight to Bogota. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and overnight stay. If time permits, a tour of the Old Town.
Leticia, Amazon River, Peru
After breakfast, city tour. The itinerary includes numerous palaces, Bolivar Square, the Botero Museum, the cathedral, and the largest Gold Museum in the world.
Then, take a cable car up to Monserrate Hill (3,152 meters above sea level), where there is an amazing view of Bogotá. At the top, there is a 17th-century monastery and a neo-Gothic chapel with the famous colonial statue of Christ Falling Under the Cross. This has been a pilgrimage site for Colombians since colonial times.
Evening flight and overnight stay in Leticia.
Bogota
After breakfast, embark on an expedition to the Amazon. The journey starts in Leticia—a city located at the junction of the borders of three countries: Colombia, Brazil, and Peru. This will be a trip to pristine corners filled with exotic flora and fauna, and an encounter with the distinct culture of the indigenous communities.
Admire the areas at the junction of Colombia and Peru during a boat crossing of the Amazon River. Meet the Ticuna community – learn about their customs and the challenges of everyday life.
At night, an expedition is planned to search for caimans. Overnight stay in the Amazon jungle in Peru.
Amazon River, Puerto Narino
After breakfast, continue our jungle adventure. We will try our hand at traversing the virgin forests of this untouched natural region. Attempt to fish for legendary piranhas using Amazonian methods. Search for pink dolphins.
In the afternoon, return to Leticia and catch an evening flight back to Bogota for an overnight stay.
Medellin
After breakfast, fly to Medellin – a city famously associated with the drug cartel boss Pablo Escobar. In the afternoon, tour the old city center including San Antonio Plaza, Las Esculturas Park, the cathedral, the former bullfighting arena, and the financial center of the city.
Travel to the Comuna 13 district, considered the “cradle of Pablo Escobar” and one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the world. An electric cable car also hovers over the hills, facilitating access to homes.
Next, walk through the favelas and take a cable car ride up one of the dominating hills. We will see numerous graffiti artworks made by local artists. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Medellin.
Medellin
After breakfast, travel to the town of Guatape, considered the most photogenic place due to its colorful buildings. Climb 740 steps up a 220-meter rock to see the area from above.
Next, take a boat cruise on the vast lakes of the region and visit a coffee plantation, which is regarded as one of the best in the world. In the evening, fly to Cartagena for an overnight stay.
Cartagena, Rosario Island
After breakfast, travel by boat to the Rosario Islands archipelago. Relax on one of the islands. Beautiful beaches, coral reefs teeming with countless species of fish, dolphins, seahorses, and majestic turtles will stimulate the senses.
In the afternoon, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant featuring the local delicacy—coconut rice and fried fish. In the late afternoon, return to the hotel in Cartagena for an overnight stay.
Cartagena
After breakfast, take a walk through Cartagena, known as the “Pearl of the Caribbean.” The itinerary includes the San Pedro Claver Monastery, Simon Bolivar Square, and the colorful Getsemani district. Additionally, visit the cathedral and the Inquisition Museum, as well as the fortified Castle of San Felipe de Barajas. Overnight stay in Cartagena.
Cartagena
After breakfast, depending on the time of your return flight, either enjoy a final stroll through Cartagena or proceed with the transfer and head back home.
