Travel itinerary
FLORIDA
We meet at the O’Hare airport in Chicago at the checkpoint with a guide/pilot. After checking our passports and luggage, we are on a flight to Miami.
Upon arrival, the first steps are directed to Little Havana. It’s a vibrant Cuban neighborhood of Miami. Thanks to the music, the noisy restaurant and the specific atmosphere, we will move, though for a moment, to the country of aromatic cigars, rum and beautiful classic cars. We will taste Cuban food here to fully experience the Caribbean climate.
In the evening we will walk around Miami, a city famous for its numerous hotels and restaurants on South Beach Miami and Ocean Drive, a street gathering nightlife enthusiasts. The city never falls asleep, there are numerous events here until white morning. Exclusive nightclubs attract visitors and tourists, and the evening streets illuminated by colourful neons are filled with expensive cars from which music resounds.
Accommodation at the hotel.
EVERGLADES NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast we will visit the alligator, crocodile and cayman farm to the Everglades National Park. The Everglades swamps have become home to birds and wildlife, mainly because humans have not interfered in these areas. It is not possible to explore Florida and not sail the Airboat through wetlands, where we will be waiting for a close encounter with alligators. During the boat trip, the park guides will inform us more about the park and the animals that live there.
We will also stay at the Big Cypress National Preserve, a reserve adjacent to Everglades Park. It protects more than 700,000 acres of vast basins covered by Cypriot forests. It was established as the first national reserve in the country. It is now visited by almost a million tourists annually.
Accommodation at the hotel.
CELEBRITY SHILOUETTE Ship Trip
Today, after breakfast at the hotel, we will start our Caribbean adventure with a passport check in the port of Fort Lauderdale. Then, after we are conveniently located in our cabins, we will invite you to a brief organizational meeting (time and place will be confirmed during the pre-trip meeting). At this meeting we will pass on information about safety rules and what attractions await us on board the cruise ship for the next 2 days.
The Celebrity Shilouette ship leaves the port at 4:00 PM.
On board you can enjoy an extensive entertainment and cultural offer. There is a theater where live performances take place, casinos, pools, solariums and many other interesting attractions.
KEY WEST - THE HIGHEST-POWERED POINT IN THE SOUTH OF THE US
Today, at about 8:00 AM, we will arrive at the port of Key West. Together with our guide we will go to explore the island. Key West Island is located at the end of an archipelago called the Florida Keys. Key West is the southernmost point of the U.S. mainland. Therefore, the first place to visit is The Southernmost Point Buoy – the famous, colorful battlefield and landmark. It is only 150 km from Cuba.
We will visit Malory Square, a square in the center of the town that is full of bars, restaurants and souvenir shops. You will enter the famous Willie T’s bar, where the walls and ceiling are covered with dollars and banknotes from different countries, left by tourists.
We walk through the vibrant Duval Street, full of bars and shops in the Caribbean climate. Do not be surprised that the cockroaches will also walk between us.
Alternatively, for an extra charge, you can take advantage of other optional tours offered by the Celebrity Cruises operator. We recommend booking in advance.
Return to the ship is scheduled by 4:00 PM, as at 5:00 PM the ship leaves the port.
CHARACTERS OF THE BIMINI ISLANDS
Today the ship will sail to the port of Bimini in the Bahamas around 8:00 AM. Together with our guide we will go to explore the island. Bimini is a small island with a mysterious past. Once recognized as the location of the Lost City of Atlantis and the legendary Fountain of Youth. Today it is the hidden treasure of the Bahamas. Bimini is composed of a chain of islands known for its impeccable beaches, numerous water attractions.
Planned return to the ship no later than 4:00 PM. On time at 5:00 PM the ship leaves the port.
RETURN TO FORT LAUDERDALE
In the morning we arrive at Fort Lauderdale, where our cruise ends. After leaving the ship, we will go to Miami again. This time during the day, we will be able to admire kilometers of beautiful beaches and the magnificent estate of millionaires.
We will visit South Beach, one of the most famous beaches in the world. Thanks to the popular “Sun Patrol” series in the 1990s, this beach and its colorful rescue towers became famous all over the world. We will also find time to walk in the sunshine of the vibrant Ocean Drive.
In the historic Art Deco district, you will look at buildings with interesting architecture. We will also see large murals and colorful street art, and at the Bayside Market we will have a delicious dinner and make the last shopping.
