Travel itinerary

1.day

Flight to Papua

Very soon, Papua New Guinea will welcome us with all its splendor. Our adventure will begin with passport and baggage check-in and a flight to the Philippines.

2.day

A day in the skies

Today, still in the skies, awaiting amazing experiences.

3.day

Arrival in Manila.

After arriving in the Philippines, we will proceed to the hotel for breakfast and some rest. Then, we will embark on a tour of Manila starting with exploring Intramuros. We will discover the historic fortifications and churches of this historical district.

After lunch, we will enjoy some relaxation at one of the beaches near Pasay or Pasig. Overnight stay at a hotel in Manila.

4.day

Manila

After breakfast, we will head to the Chinatown district of Binondo, where we will immerse ourselves in the culture and taste traditional Chinese delicacies. Then, we will take a stroll along Escolta Street, a historic shopping street.

After lunch and sampling authentic Filipino dishes at a local restaurant, we will visit Rizal Park. This is the perfect place to relax and observe the social life in the city center.

In the evening, we will go to the airport to continue our journey to the capital of Papua – Port Moresby.

5.day

Port Moresby

Upon arrival in Papua New Guinea, we will transfer to the capital, Port Moresby, and check into our hotel.

In the early afternoon, we will embark on a city tour, visiting the Parliament House, the National Museum, and the Art Gallery. We will conclude the day with dinner.

Overnight stay in Port Moresby.

6.day

Mount Hagen

In the early morning, we will head to the airport to fly to Mount Hagen. Upon arrival, we will check into a hotel surrounded by lush greenery and beautiful landscapes. Dinner and overnight stay.

Next, we will visit the main market of Mount Hagen, where you can see various tribal artifacts unique to the Papua New Guinea region.

Afterward, we will venture into the surrounding mountains, where with a bit of luck, we may spot paradise birds, mountain possums, and cassowaries. We’ll return to Mount Hagen for dinner and overnight stay.

7.day

Visit to a traditional Papuan village.

Today, we will visit a local village where we will taste the traditional Papuan dish “mumu.” This dish is prepared by cooking in the ground on heated stones using banana leaves and ferns, sweet potatoes, bananas, and pork.

While waiting for the meal, we will learn about various customs and traditional skills of the local residents, such as fire-making and archery.

After the feast, we will go trekking to a nearby waterfall, where we can swim and enjoy the charm of the local waters. Then, we will return to Mount Hagen to Kaibar, a local restaurant in the area.

8.day

Luglamp

After breakfast, we will visit the Luglamp tribe to participate in the School Day celebrations. This is a kind of Mini-Hagen Festival, where as the only tourists, we will experience this holiday organized by local students and teachers.

After the celebrations, we will return to Mt. Hagen. After lunch, we will visit a coffee plantation. Then, dinner at the famous Highlander Hotel. Overnight stay.

9.day

Festiwal Hagen

Today is the big day of the festival! We will arrive at the festival grounds early enough to witness participants preparing their costumes.

There will be an opportunity for face painting (for an additional fee) and participation in traditional games. After the festivities, we will return to the hotel for dinner.

10.day

Festiwal Hagen

Today marks another day of the festival, with another round of dances and entertainment, offering the opportunity to capture wonderful souvenir photos. In the evening, we will go for a night outing to Mount Hagen to commemorate the end of the festival. Overnight stay.

11.day

Goroka

Today we depart from Mt Hagen to continue our journey. Along the way, we will have lunch at the Mt Wilhelm Hotel in the Simbu Province. We will also visit the Mindima Skeletons tribe.

We will also stop by the J.K. McCarthy Museum, which houses exhibits ranging from World War II artifacts to traditional relics from Papua New Guinea. Overnight stay in Goroka.

12.day

Port Moresby

After the morning flight from Lae to Port Moresby, you’ll have some free time to relax and unwind.

13.day

Departure from Port Moresby.
