Flight to Casablanca

CASABLANCA - RABAT

CASABLANCA – RABAT – CHEFCHAOUEN

After breakfast, we will visit the Hassan II Mosque, which is a fascinating example of Moroccan architecture. It is the largest mosque in the kingdom and the fifth largest in the world (it can accommodate 25,000 worshippers). It is also considered the most decorative among the mosques in North Africa.

We will then head towards Chefchaouen. On the way, we will stop for lunch in the capital of Morocco – Rabat. There, we will be delighted by beautiful views of the coast. We will also see the Hassan Tower, overlooking the city, and the minaret of the never-completed mosque. This tower is considered a model for all Moroccan minarets, and the mosque itself, if completed, would have been the second largest in the world.

Dinner and overnight stay in a beautiful riad.

CHEFCHAOUEN – VOLUBILIS – FES 

Breakfast in the beautiful blue town nestled amidst the majestic Rif Mountains.

Chefchaouen is the blue pearl of Morocco. Its unique beauty hidden in colorful buildings of various shades of blue makes Chefchaouen a dream for every photographer. The town is also famous for its old Medina and its blue labyrinth adorned with beautiful and colorful craftsmanship, known worldwide for its unique, original textiles.

We will also visit the Uta el-Hamman square with numerous cafes and restaurants, and then we will head to the ancient city of Volubilis. There, we will explore the ruins from the time of the Roman Empire dating back 2000 years. Lunch in the holy city of Moulay Idriss.

In the evening, we will drive to Fes and spend the night in a riad.

FES

Fez is one of the most fascinating cities in Morocco. Some even say that exploring Morocco without Fez wouldn’t be complete. Today’s Fez is a mix of the old and the new world. Nowhere else are the past and the beginnings of the kingdom as tangible as here.

After breakfast, we will join a local guide for a tour of the Old Medina. The absence of cars makes it the largest pedestrian urban area in the world. The Old Medina is the heart of the city. From the early hours of the morning, trade flourishes here, and the abundance of goods, colors, scents, and flavors can make your head spin.

We will explore narrow streets scented with fresh fruits and spices and marvel at the colorful, intricately woven Berber carpets and other Moroccan artworks, many of which are handmade artisanal souvenirs.

We will also visit the Royal Palace, tanneries, and pottery workshops. Return to the hotel for overnight stay.

FEZ – IFRANE – MIDELT – MERZOUGA (ERG CHEBBI)

MERZOUGA VILLAGE/RISSANI – SAHARA DESERT

After breakfast, we will explore the village of El Khamlia. We will wander through authentic places, discovering the tastiest food, traditions, and typical life in the Sahara.

Next, we will embark on a journey towards Rissani, the ancient market of the Sahara, where we will learn more about Saharan culture and explore the old kasbah and ancient palaces. In the afternoon, we will return to Merzouga and prepare for an amazing adventure on the sands of the Sahara. We will ride camels for an unforgettable journey through the desert. The magic of this ride will be enhanced by a spectacular sunset. We will spend the night at a traditional desert camp.

MERZOUGA – TINJAD – TODRA GORGES – BOUMALNE DADES

After breakfast, we will continue our journey through Morocco to immerse ourselves in the local Berber life. We will encounter authentic mud-brick buildings along the way.

Next, we will head towards the Dades Valley, a small green paradise in the Sahara. Here, we will enjoy a delicious local dinner, followed by spending the night in an elegant hotel on the other side of the Dades River.

QUARZAZATE – AIT BEN HADDOU – MARRAKESH

After breakfast, we will continue our journey through Quarzazate towards the High Atlas Mountains. We’ll travel towards “Kelaat M’gouna,” the Valley of Roses, the most romantic city in Morocco, where pink roses grow above the Berber town.

Continuing on the road, we’ll pass through the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs,” passing by the palm oasis of Skoura. We’ll visit the UNESCO heritage site of Kasbah Ait Benhaddou. Moroccans claim that real treasures should be sought and discovered by chance. In reality, this amazing scenery was artificially created for the needs of popular films such as “Lawrence of Arabia,” “Jesus of Nazareth,” or “Gladiator.”

In the afternoon, we’ll travel through the mountains towards Marrakech.

Upon checking into our hotel in Marrakech, we’ll head to the famous Jamaa el-Fna square. It is the central square of the medina, which in the evening is filled with the scent of tea and bustling with thousands of people, many of whom watch, comment, and admire the performances of snake charmers, acrobats, exotic dancers, monkey trainers, and even, surprisingly, tooth vendors.

We’ll try grilled delicacies on the terrace of a nearby café, which offers an amazing view of the crowded square. It’s truly an extraordinary place worth visiting. Dinner and overnight stay in a riad.

MARRAKESH

After breakfast, we will embark once again on a tour of Marrakech, the southern pearl of Morocco and the most visited city in the country by tourists. Some of the main landmarks we will see include the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and the magnificent Koutoubia Mosque. The latter stands at 70 meters tall and combines Spanish and Moorish styles, which is perfectly visible in the shapes of the arches, arcades, domes, and wall paintings.

Behind the mosque lies the public garden of Parc Lalla Hasna, an interesting spot from which you can take beautiful photos of the elegant mosque and minaret. We will revisit the famous Jamma-el-Fna square and conclude the tour with a stroll through the local souk (market). Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel/riad.

MARRAKECH – ESSAOUIRA

After breakfast, we will head to the charming town of Essaouira, known for its very favorable microclimate. Winters here are mild and summers are cool. Nowadays, Essaouira is gradually becoming a city of artists. Craftsmen from Essaouira are famous for their cedar woodwork and offer a wide range of items, from souvenirs to furniture and other exquisite works of art.

On the way, we will stop to see the world-famous argan tree, where goats can be seen perched on the top and branches. This incredible sight must be seen with your own eyes. There will also be an opportunity to buy genuine argan oil from a roadside vendor.

Next, we will explore the charm of the narrow streets of this seaside town with a beautiful beach to the south. It’s no wonder that the town has become one of the most popular seaside resorts in Morocco. Lunch will be at one of the many seafood restaurants renowned for their fresh catches. In the afternoon, you’ll have free time, which you can use for sightseeing or relaxation and swimming. Dinner and overnight stay in Essaouira.

ESSAOURIA - SAFI - OUALIDIA - EL JADIDA - CASABLANCA

This is our last day in Morocco.

We leave Essaouira and head along the coast to Casablanca. Along the way, we’ll pass through the cities of Safi and El Oualidia. We’ll also pass by the city of El Jadida with its beautiful old medina.

Upon returning to Casablanca, we’ll head to the hotel to rest a bit before the return journey. And perhaps, as we close our eyes, the famous words spoken by Bogart in “Casablanca” will come to mind: “Play it again, Sam,” because once you’ve touched Morocco, its fascinating history, rich culture, and aromatic cuisine, you’ll want to come back here.
