7.day

Masai Mara

Another thrilling day unfolds in one of the planet’s most dynamic wildlife ecosystems – Masai Mara. Renowned as one of Africa’s premier wildlife reserves, Masai Mara, in tandem with the adjacent Serengeti in Tanzania, is hailed as one of the world’s most beautiful parks.

The landscape of Masai Mara features expansive savannahs dotted with sparse trees, hosting diverse herds of antelopes, gazelles, zebras, elephants, giraffes, and a plethora of predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and jackals. It stands as a sanctuary to the largest and most varied concentration of wildlife in comparison to any other nature reserve in the region.

As the day draws to a close, we’ll journey to the Mara River, bordering Tanzania. In August and September, during the great migrations, this river witnesses the awe-inspiring spectacle of hundreds of thousands of wildebeests and zebras crossing, heading east across the plains. With some luck, we may observe crocodile and hippopotamus herds grazing alongside wildebeests, antelopes, and zebras. Predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas await their opportune moment.

In the evening, we will transfer to Basecamp Masai Mara for our overnight stay.
