The Great Wall Of China
Today promises to be an unforgettable day filled with fascinating discoveries. We will start with a visit to one of the greatest wonders of
the world, the Great Wall of China, a structure that for centuries has symbolized the strength and determination of Chinese civilization. This construction, stretching thousands of kilometers, was built to protect China’s northern borders from invasions. Its name, given by the English in the 19th century, has become part of history. However, the Chinese call it Wànli Chángchéng, meaning “The Wall of Ten Thousand Li.” In Chinese culture, the number “ten thousand” symbolizes infinity, perfectly capturing the majesty of this extraordinary structure. During our walk along the wall, we will marvel not only at its monumental architecture but also at breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and valleys.
In the afternoon, we will visit the Forbidden City – one of the best-preserved palace complexes in the world and the former
political and ritual heart of China. Completed in 1420, this monumental site served as the residence of 24 emperors from the Ming and
Qing dynasties over the next five centuries. Consisting of over 90 palace complexes, the Forbidden City is a superb example of traditional Chinese architecture, where every detail – from the layout of the buildings to the choice of colors – was meticulously planned and rich in symbolism. As we stroll through its vast courtyards, majestic gates, and intricately decorated interiors, we will learn about the life of the imperial court, the social hierarchy, and some of the most significant events that shaped China’s history.
Xi' an

Terracotta Army consists of thousands of life sized clay figures of soldiers, horses, and chariots designed to guard the tomb of
Emperor Qin Shi Huang in his afterlife. Exploring this impressive necropolis will give us a chance not only to marvel at the intricate details of the figures but also to delve into the history of China’s first emperor. Lhasa, meaning “Place of the Gods,” is situated at an impressive altitude of over 3,600 meters above sea level, earning it the
nickname “Roof of the World.” Here, mountains seem to touch the sky, and every step serves as a reminder of the majesty of
nature and history.
From the very first moments, we will notice how deeply Tibetan spirituality permeates the daily lives of its residents. Due to the
high altitude, we will dedicate the rest of the day to acclimatization and rest to prepare for the upcoming days of exploration. This time will also provide an opportunity to slowly absorb the city’s unique atmosphere, admire the surrounding mountain land-scapes, and experience our first encounters with Tibetan culture. This period of adjustment will help us ease into the rhythm of life on the Roof of the World and prepare for the discovery of its remarkable treasures, such as the Potala Palace, the Jokhang Temple, and the charming streets of Barkhor, which await us in the coming days.
Lhasa
Our day in Lhasa will begin with a visit to the Ramoche Temple, one of the most significant temples in Tibetan Buddhism. This majestic complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, draws a constant stream of pilgrims from the farthest reaches of Tibet, many of whom travel hundreds of kilometers, sometimes on their knees, to reach this sacred place. Walking along the kora, the pilgrimage path around the temple, we will be surrounded by the sound of prayer wheels and mantras recited by devoted worshippers. Inside the temple, we will encounter the highly revered statue of Buddha Shakyamuni, considered one of the most important relics in Buddhism.
