Easter Island, also known as Rapa Nui, is a unique place with an incredible history and culture. The most significant attraction of Easter Island is these mysterious statues. Moai are gigantic stone sculptures of human figures, created by the island’s indigenous inhabitants.
Flight to Santiago de Chile
Our journey will begin with passport and baggage check-in to reach Santiago de Chile.
Santiago de Chile
After arriving in Santiago de Chile and checking in at the hotel, we will embark on a city tour. We will visit landmarks such as Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, the Main Post Office building, as well as the Presidential Palace La Moneda and the tiny district of Paris-Londres with the historic San Francisco Church.
In the evening, we’ll return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, we will take a flight to Easter Island. Upon arrival, there will be a traditional welcome at the airport in the town of Hanga Roa, followed by a transfer to the hotel.
Subsequently, there will be free time, which you can use to explore the town of Hanga Roa – the capital and the only town on Easter Island. This is where all the hotels, restaurants, cafes, and bars are located.
Overnight stay at a hotel in Hanga Roa.
Orongo - Rano Kau
Today, we will witness the beauty of Easter Island. After breakfast, we will embark on a full-day excursion, exploring the most important and fascinating places in the southwestern part of the island.
We will visit, among others: Orongo – a ceremonial village dedicated to the cult of the birdman. Next, we will explore Ahu Vinapu with its architecture reminiscent of pre-Inca structures.
Another scenic viewpoint we’ll visit will allow us to appreciate the Rano Kau crater with its lagoon.
Return to the town and overnight stay.
Rano Raraku - Ahu Tongariki
After breakfast, we will head towards the southern coast and the eastern part of the island for a tour, where we’ll admire the work of the ancient Rapa Nui society, showcasing an incredibly advanced level of megalithic engineering.
Easter Island is an exceptional place. We will visit, among other sites: Hanga Poukura – a beautiful coastline with interesting volcanic rock formations and the phenomenon known as the Blowhole.
Next, we continue our journey along the southern coast until we reach the entrance to “Ara o te Moai,” heading towards Rano Raraku – the area of the volcano transformed into a megalith factory.
To conclude the tour, we will explore Ahu Tongariki – the largest and most impressive, restored monument on Rapa Nui with 15 powerful Moai placed back in their original positions.
Return to the hotel.
Terevaka - Ahu Akivi
Today we will visit the old Vai Tea sheep farm, where our hike to the highest peak of Maunga Terevaka begins. It is the youngest of the three volcanoes that gave rise to the triangular shape of Easter Island.
The hike to Maunga Terevaka is not only a physical challenge but also a spiritual journey through the history, nature, and culture of Easter Island. It is an excellent way to understand the uniqueness of this place and immerse oneself in its magical charm.
In the afternoon, free time. Accommodation on the island.
Tongariki - Anakena Beach
Today we will leave the hotel early in the morning to admire the first rays of the sun rising behind the Moai erected on Ahu Tongariki in Hanga Nui Bay. Afterward, we will return to the hotel for breakfast.
Following breakfast, we will visit the exciting caves in the remote central and western parts of Easter Island. The road in this area is too rough for cars, so these areas are less frequented by tourists. We will start inland, head towards the coast, and then follow the coastline back to the town, visiting some of the most incredible caves on Easter Island along the way.
Return to the hotel and free time.
Hanga Roa - Santiago de Chile
After breakfast, there will be time for some final souvenirs and last moments on the Polynesian island. It’s the last chance to try traditional pastries like tuna empanadas or po’e, a dessert made with banana and pumpkin.
