Travel itinerary

1.day

Flight to Santiago, Chile

We will start our adventure with passport and baggage check-in, to head to Santiago de Chile – a city filled with magnificent landscapes, historical architecture, local charm, and exquisite cuisine.

Motocykle

2.day

Santiago de Chile

After arriving in Santiago de Chile, we will begin our city tour. During this tour, we will visit Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, the Main Post Office building, as well as the Presidential Palace La Moneda and the quaint Paris-Londres district with the historic San Francisco church. Finally, we will head to the famous San Cristobal Hill, where we will take a cable car ride up to the observation point to admire the panoramic view of the capital and the surrounding metropolitan areas nestled in the Andes mountain range. Return to the hotel. Overnight stay.

3.day

Balmaceda

Today, we will head to the airport from where we will fly to the town of Balmaceda, where our Moto Team will be waiting for us. We will then transfer to the city of Coyhaique – the capital of the Aysén region, where we will have a welcome dinner. During the dinner, we will review the route and go over all the tips to make our adventure one of the best and most memorable experiences.

4.day

Coyhaique - Puerto Murta - Puerto Rio Tranquilo (225 KM)

We will begin our journey on a relatively unexplored and somewhat mystical route. About 50% of the road will pass through rugged terrain. We will have asphalt from the city of Coyhaique to the town of Villa Cerro Castillo, located a bit further south. Only 120 kilometers of gravel road will separate us from our destination. The road will become increasingly fascinating as we pass through forests, cross bridges, and encounter beautiful viewpoints. Along the way, we will have the opportunity to learn about the history of these lesser-known towns.

5.day

Patagonia National Park - Cochrane (137 KMS)

In the morning, we will have the pleasure of traveling through the little-known area of Lake General Carrera, characterized by its marble caves. We will discover formations that speak of the mining history of this town.

In the afternoon, we will continue our adventure on a 100% off-road route, passing through Puerto Río Tranquilo. We will stop at one of the most characteristic bridges on the entire Carretera Austral, where Lake General Carrera flows into Lake Bertrand. We will follow along the lake until we reach its eastern shore, Villa de Puerto Bertrand. Here lies the source of the largest river in Chile – the Baker River. We will also visit the Patagonia National Park, which is an excellent example of preserving native fauna.

6.day

Cochrane - Villa O'Higgins - Puerto Bahamondes (238 KMS)

On this completely off-road route, we will traverse from steppe landscapes to the cold jungle forest with a small section of a boat ride, adding a touch of emptiness to this pristine land.

On this day, we will reach the long-awaited landmark zero, the end of the southern highway (Route 7), and the beginning of the Campos de Hielo Sur, in Puerto Bahamondes. This is the southernmost point accessible by land route. It boasts extraordinary beauty in its remote natural surroundings, captivating the soul.

7.day

Villa O' ́Higgins-Caleta Tortel-Cochrane (279 KMS)

We will start our return journey with a visit to the picturesque town of Caleta Tortel, located at the mouth of the Baker River.

This town, with only 600 inhabitants, lacks conventional streets but instead features wooden walkways and the typical Chiloé architecture inherited from the settlers inhabiting these lands. It can only be traversed on foot, so motorcycles will be parked in very close proximity. We continue our journey north to spend the night in the town of Cochrane, once again in the steppe area.

8.day

Cochrane - Little Chile (201 KMS)

We begin our adventure by exploring the ‘Patagonia National Park’ and getting to know its magnificent museum – the conservation legacy of Douglas Tompkins, now known as Rewilding.

We continue our journey south, where we will follow the mythical route to Chile Chico, ‘El paso de las llaves’. Its complex geography and narrow road may resemble scenes from Bolivia’s Death Road. The scenery of the Andes and the turquoise Lake General Carrera is undoubtedly a must-see.

9.day

Chile Chico - Squirrel Trail - Coyhaique (178 KMS)

An extraordinary return journey to the city of Coyhaique, with a route that will take us through Lake General Carrera, before joining the lesser-explored trail, offering one of the most beautiful views of the Cerro Castillo massif.

From the steppe environment, we quickly transition to the cold forest, returning through the Cerro Castillo Reserve all the way to Coyhaique, where a wonderful dinner awaits us. During this dinner, we will share our experiences from this journey.

10.day

Balmaceda

The end of our adventure, returning to Balmaceda Airport and taking the flight back to Santiago. Transfer to the hotel for overnight stay.

11.day

DEPARTURE FROM SANTIAGO

Today marks the end of our motorcycle adventure. For non-motorcyclists, we recommend two programs: Patagonia for the active, and for those who want to venture to the end of the world.
