1.day

Flight to Sri Lanka

Our destination is Sri Lanka, a place mainly inhabited by Buddhists but also Christians and Muslims. Until 2009, Sri Lanka struggled with a devastating civil war. Today, however, it offers relaxation and wonderful leisure with unforgettable memories.

2.day

A day in travel.

Today is a day in travel. Excited to see what Sri Lanka has to offer us.

3.day

Beruwala

Arrival in the paradise of Sri Lanka and transfer to Beruwala. Accommodation at the hotel and free time. Beruwala is a town with a small, picturesque beach featuring soft, light sand that provides comfortable access to the water. However, there may be sharp rocks and coral fragments on the seabed from the nearby coral reef.

4.day

Galle Fort

Today, we will visit the Turtle Hatchery, a conservation center that cares for newly hatched turtles and adults that have been rescued from the sea due to injuries. One of the most unique areas in the center is where turtles lay their eggs.

Afterward, we will head to the Dutch fort of Galle. It is the best-preserved colonial town in Sri Lanka. We will also visit Yala National Park, famous for its leopard population and other wildlife. Free time. Overnight stay at Chaarya Resort & Spa.

5.day

Ravana Waterfall

After breakfast, we will head to Ella to see Ravana Falls. According to legend, Ravana kidnapped Princess Sita and hid her in the caves behind this waterfall.

Next, we will trek to the summit of Adam’s Peak and then visit the Nine Arch Bridge. This bridge was built to connect two mountains during the construction of the Badulla-Colombo railway line. It is one of the finest examples of colonial-era railway construction in the country.

6.day

Ramboda Waterfall

Today, we will travel to Kandy via Nuwara Eliya. We will stop at a tea factory where you can taste various types of tea.

Next, we will visit the Ramboda Falls, which is 109 meters high and is the tallest waterfall on the island.

We will also visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, where the left canine tooth of Buddha Gautama is enshrined. This temple was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1988. Free time and overnight stay.

7.day

Dambulla

Today, we will take a city tour of Kandy, where we will observe the beauty of the town from a 360-degree viewpoint. Next, we will visit a spice garden where you’ll learn about various spices used in regional cuisine.

We will also visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, which is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Dambulla is renowned for being the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka.

For those interested, an optional visit to a local village, at an additional cost, will provide an opportunity to learn about the life and customs of the local residents.

8.day

Sigiriya Rock Fortress

At the beginning of the day, we will head to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa. We will hop on bicycles and explore the rock fortress of Sigiriya, also known as the Lion’s Rock. Free time and overnight stay.

9.day

Departure from Sri Lanka

After breakfast, transfer to the airport and farewell to the group. During the journey back home, we will cherish the time spent in Sri Lanka and start planning our next adventures with Rek Travel.
